St. James Transit
St. James Parish offers a wide variety of transportation services to its residents. Regularly scheduled bus routes operate Monday – Friday. The fare is $1.00, or 50 cents for the eldery or disabled.

With advanced notice and for an addition $2.00, St. James residents may schedule rides to St. Charles or St. John the Baptist Parish with the River Parishes Transit Authority (RPTA). St. James transit connects to the RPTA at the Golden Grove Truck stop on LA-641.
